Sermon Series Conclusion | “…PEACE BE WITH YOU” JOHN 20:19-22 | DR. TOBEY MONTGOMERY 11/18/18The RISEN, ETERNAL CHRIST brings PEACE. Peace is the evidence of the Kingdom’s Presence and the demonstration of His Kingdom Rule…
Col. 3:15 - …Let the peace of God rule in your hearts…
We are the Heirs of Peace. John 14:27 NIV - Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you… I cannot be a Person OF PEACE unless I am a Person AT PEACE. Being AT PEACE is not only my inheritance from the Lord, it is also my responsibility. |
“…PEACE BE WITH YOU” JOHN 20:19-22 | DR. TOBEY MONTGOMERY 11/11/18John 20:19-22 NIV78 - On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!” 20 After he said this, he showed them his hands and side. The disciples were overjoyed when they saw the Lord. 21 Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” 22 And with that he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit.”
Our Sacred Calling, is not to do the ministry FOR Jesus, but rather to do the Ministry OF Jesus, and WITH Him. As Christians, our strength and peace rests upon the confidence that JESUS LIVES and that JESUS LOVES! |

“…PEACE BE WITH YOU” JOHN 20:19-22 | DR. TOBEY MONTGOMERY 10/21/18Peace IS THE RESPONSIBILITY and OVERFLOW OF A CHRIST-CENTERED, TRUSTING HEART!
Romans 15:13 NIV - May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. The OVERFLOW of a Life AT Peace is a Ministry OF Peace. We must walk in the Ministry the Prince of Peace, and become the PEACEMAKERS of our Age who Minister in the OPPOSITE spirit of our times. Matthew 5:9 NIV - Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. Because we are the Children of God, His DNA within us is PEACE; therefore we must be Peace MAKERS. |

“YOUR PARTNERSHIP IN THE GOSPEL…” PHILIPPIANS 1:3-6 / JOHN 20:19-20 | DR. TOBEY MONTGOMERY 5/20/18It is the RESURRECTION of Christ that legitimizes our ministry. It is His LOVE that motivates it, and His PEACE that captivates the lives of His Children. Likewise, it must be His breath, His Spirit that inspires and empowers our lives. We are in this together. God has chosen that we will live and serve in this place and at this time, for His eternal purpose and sovereign design. It is such a wonderful grace to be allowed to participate together in His great work.

“YOUR PARTNERSHIP IN THE GOSPEL…” PHILIPPIANS 1:3-6 / JOHN 20:19-20 | DR. TOBEY MONTGOMERY 4/29/18The Gospel is not simply the persuasion of the mind, the clothing of the body, or the feeding of the stomach (as important as those things can be). The Gospel is the transforming POWER OF GOD!
Romans 1:16 NKJV - For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. Oh my friends, not for affirmation, not for self-appointment, but for the sake of the Kingdom of God, we need the Ministry of the Miraculous. The working of the Spirit of God. |
“YOUR PARTNERSHIP IN THE GOSPEL…” PHILIPPIANS 1:3-6 / JOHN 20:19-20 | DR. TOBEY MONTGOMERY 4/22/18Oh how desperately we need “a demonstration of the Spirit’s power!” Nothing takes place in the Kingdom of God without an anointing…the Life-infusing grace and power of Almighty God upon His servants.
“To raise up a Gideon’s Army” is not simply a promise to celebrate, but it is INSTRUCTION that I (and we) are obligated to do! Even my personal perspective on the Moving of the Spirit has changed. As a Pentecostal Believer, I have always loved the moving of the Lord for reasons of blessing and even affirmation; therefore, I wanted to see Him and His Power move. But now, that has changed: I no longer just WANT to see His POWER, I have finally begun to realize just how depleted we are and how DESPERATELY WE NEED HIS POWER, or the work will simply not be accomplished. |

“YOUR PARTNERSHIP IN THE GOSPEL…” PHILIPPIANS 1:3-6 / JOHN 20:19-20 | DR. TOBEY MONTGOMERY 4/15/18"I must go on boasting. Although there is nothing to be gained, I will go on to visions and revelations from the Lord. 2 I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago was caught up to the third heaven. Whether it was in the body or out of the body I do not know—God knows. 3 And I know that this man—whether in the body or apart from the body I do not know, but God knows-- 4 was caught up to paradise and heard inexpressible things, things that no one is permitted to tell. 5 I will boast about a man like that, but I will not boast about myself, except about my weaknesses. 6 Even if I should choose to boast, I would not be a fool, because I would be speaking the truth. But I refrain, so no one will think more of me than is warranted by what I do or say, 7 or because of these surpassingly great revelations. Therefore, in order to keep me from becoming conceited, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. 8 Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. 9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 10 That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong."
2nd Corinthians 12: 1-10 |
“Your Partnership In The Gospel…” Philippians 1:3-6 / John 20:19-20 | Dr. Tobey MontgomeryAs brilliant as Paul was: skilled, courageous, eloquent, oratorically rich, and intellectually insightful. The fact is that all of his talents, skill, and work ethic did not replace the desperate need that he (and WE) have for the anointing and power of the Holy Spirit to permeate ALL of our ministry activities and efforts.
1 Corinthians 2:1-5 NIV84 - When I came to you, brothers, I did not come with eloquence or superior wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God. 2 For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. 3I came to you in weakness and fear, and with much trembling. 4 My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, 5 so that your faith might not rest on men’s wisdom, but on God’s power. Oh how desperately we need “a demonstration of the Spirit’s power!” Nothing takes place in the Kingdom of God without an anointing…the Life-infusing grace and power of Almighty God upon His servants. |

“For This Reason I Kneel…” Ephesians 1:15-23; 3:14-21| Dr. Tobey Montgomery | 3/4/18"Church, it is NOT too late for America;
It is NOT too late for our city; It is NOT too late for our children; It is NOT too late for our grandchildren! The LORD God is Merciful and Mighty! He would have spared Sodom and Gomorrah for the sake of ten righteous people! God wants to deliver; He wants to save; and He wants to heal our land." Ephesians 3:20 AMP - Now to Him Who, by (in consequence of) the [action of His] power that is at work within us, is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams]-- |

“Yet, This I Call to Mind…” Lamentations 3:19-24 • Dr. Tobey Montgomery 1/7/18
Once we have INTENTIONALLY REFLECTED upon the Goodness of the LORD, the natural response of our Spirit is then to “REJOICE IN THE LORD.” Not as an emotional opiate or some psychological sedative, but because transcendent faith leads to Transcendent Worship!
Philippians 4:4-5 NIV - Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Revelation 4:8 & 11 KJV - …Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come… 11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. REFLECT on these markers. REJOICE in them. But if that is all we do with them, then they are nothing more than Monuments to our Yesterdays. God wants them to be Bridges to our Tomorrows! |
